14 Union-News, Tuesday, March 7, 1995 William J. Puzzo, pioneer state trooper LONGMEADOW William J. Puzzo, 94, of Longmeadow, a 43- year state policeman, died Sunday at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. He started his career in 1922, and was assigned to one of the original State Police units. He was in the first formal group of cadets to graduate from the State Police Academy.

He served as a state fire mar- shal in Western PUZZO Massachusetts, and represented the state police on the state Boxing Commission in the 1950s. At the time of his retirement in 1965, he was a detective lieutenant inspector. He investigated several cases that were highlighted in the press and television documentaries. After retirement, he became the chief of security at American International College in Springfield, and served until 1975. He developed the school's security system.

Born in Boston, he lived in South Daniel Jemiolo, accident victim SEABROOK, N.H. Daniel N. Jemiolo, 41, of New Zealand Road, and formerly of Southwick, died Saturday after being injured in a vehicle accident on the Massachusetts Turnpike. He was a heavy-equipment mechanic for James Rosencrantz Sons Co. in Seabrook.

Born in Westfield, he lived in Southwick for 14 years. He attended Southwick schools, and served in the Air Force in Texas for four years. He also lived in Ipswich, for 10 years before moving here four years ago. He leaves his wife, the former Loretta Barbrick; three sons, Jason, Scott and Mark; two daughters, Liana and Danielle Jemiolo, all of Seabrook; his mother, Frances E. (Mika) Calvert; two brothers, Leonard and Paul, and a sister, Kathleen Calvert, of Westfield.

The funeral will be Thursday morning at Robert E. Cusack Funeral, Home and the church, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours are scheduled Wednesday afternoon and evening. Lillian I.

Cohn LONGMEADOW Lillian I. (Hare) Cohn, 85, of 43 Burbank Road died Monday in a local nursing home. Her husband, the late Arthur Cohn, founded the former Guarantee Typewriter Exchange in Springfield in 1931. After his death in 1971, Mrs. Cohn continued the business until her retirement in 1989.

Born in Springfield, she was a graduate of the High School of Commerce, and the Red Cross Motor Corps. She helped to transport patients and blood supplies between hospitals and clinics in World War II. She settled here in 1953. She was a member of Temple Beth El and its Sisterhood. She leaves a son, Neil of Beaverton, a daughter, Marjorie Cohn of Longmeadow, and two grandchildren.

The funeral will be Wednesday afternoon at Harold R. Ascher Son Memorial Chapel in Springfield, with burial at Beth Israel Cemetery in West Springfield. He came to Springfield in 1933. He was a Navy veteran, and served aboard the battleship, USS Arizona, in peacetime. The ship was sunk at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on Dec. 7, 1941. He settled here in 1958, and was a communicant of St.

Mary's Church. He was in the Massachusetts State Police Retired Officers Association, and was a vice president of the Harvard Police Association. His wife, the former Lauretta Delano, died in 1992. He leaves three sons, William D. of Chicopee, Richard N.

of Springfield, and Robert B. of Suffield; a brother, Andrew of Boston; a sister, Agnes DeNucci of Stoneham; eight grandchildren, and 10 greatgrandchildren. 1 Lucien T. Lambert ANN ARBOR, Mich. Lucien T. "Ted" Lambert, 96, of Ann Arbor, and formerly of Pelham, died Monday at home. He was a purchasing agent for the Postal Service, and a Pelham selectman for many years.

Born in Lowell, he was an Army veteran of World War II. He lived in Pelham for many years, and settled here in 1985.1 His wife, the former Doris Ward, died in 1985. He leaves two daughters, Betty Melville Baker of Gold Canyon, and Claire McCubbrey of Tucson, four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. A private graveside service will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Valley Cemetery in Pelham. There are no calling hours, and Douglass Funeral Home of Amherst, is in charge.

She leaves her husband, Marshall Cole; four sons, Richard of Stafford, Charles of Raleigh, N.C., Robert J. of Huntsville, and Daryl of Stewartstown, two daughters, Debora J. Wicks, 69, E. Longmeadow actor EASTHAM Gerard R. Wicks, 69, of Eastham, a well-known former East Longmeadow amateur actor, died Saturday at home. He was the New England sales representative for the Airco a welding supply. company, and later for the Victor Equipment from 1971 until retiring in 1986.

He worked formerly at the Wicks Welding School in New York City, owned and operated by his late father, William P. Wicks. Born in Queens, N.Y., he attended New York City schools. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, and served in the Pacific theater. He attended the rank of sergeant.

While on Saipan in 1944, he helped to organize a theater, and worked with cinemactor Tyrone Power, then a Marine Corps officer. Wicks lived in East Longmeadow for 25 years, and was a leading player in the town's Community Theater. He was acclaimed for Theodora Christodoulakis SPRINGFIELD Theodora (Louvaris) Christodoulakis of 16 Milford St. died Saturday in an Agawam nursing home. Born in Crete, Greece, she lived here most of her life.

She was the widow of Christ Christodoulakis. Mrs. Christodoulakis leaves a son, George of Springfield; two brothers, John of Vancouver, Canada, and Domostenis of Greece, and a grandson. She received Massachusetts Teacher of the Year Award in 1942. Her second husband, Ovila LaVoie, died in 1981. Her first husband, Hank Kilgore, predeceased her.
