Köld's story began in San Francisco in the fall of 2013, where founders Peter Svanberg and Alex Fogler lived, worked, and met through their shared interests in the F&B scenes of the west coast. Soon they collaborated and began experimenting on a 1-liter ice cream machine in Peter’s kitchen. The vision was to create exciting flavors even for those who cannot or prefer not to have dairy ice creams.Business started in Malmö in 2015 and has expanded steadily. Since 2021, Köld found has its home at Friisgatan 14, Malmö, continuing its expansion in business development and service offerings. This goes beyond producing exciting flavors, but also offering workshops, tasting events for smaller to bigger groups, as well as services for corporate events, weddings, and more.

Bridge to Better - Ideas for a Bridge Street brew Beth and Nick Schryvers are the co-owners of Victus Café, which was named Outstanding Café in the recent Nelson hospitality awards, with Nick also taking out the Outstanding Barista award. They both worked in the specialty coffee industry before opening Victus in June 2022. The location of their first business venture together was key.“It was really important to us that the heart of thecafé was based around the concept of building community and bringing people together.” With the Bridge Street Collective co-working space accessible through the café, and Kirby Lane and its various pop-up events right next door, the Schryvers’ found the perfect spot with Victus, formerly The Kitchen.“ Nelson is a city that is based around lifestyle, community and bringing people together,” Nick says.“ We absolutely love it when events like the arts festival and Te Ramaroabring people into the city. When events are happening in the city, Nelson has this light that comes out of it and people sparkle.” Nick observes that it’s not just one-off events that attract people into the city but Nelson’s clever use of space." The Nelson Market is a great example of using space flexibly. It’s existing infrastructure, car-parking, that at its core is really boring. But every Saturday, Montgomery Square comes alive and people from all over the world visit this little market. It's just buzzing with people that otherwise wouldn't be right there in the heart of town.” Nick acknowledges that there are some neglected buildings and empty shops in the Bridge Street area, but he’s also seeing the energy that other small businesses are bringing to the precinct. ✨The secret of success is to do the common thing uncommonly well ✨I love this quote by John D. Rockefellar - it’s like he wrote it for events.Your attendees won’t be stunned that there’s a venue, or a speaker, or food. That’s a given.Sure, it takes a lot of work for us #eventprofs to make the bare minimum happen. But you don’t need to be super creative or experienced to do it. The magic happens when you obsess about things that most people wouldn’t obsess about. The location, design and layout of your venue and what the attendee journey will look like at each touch point. The quality and engagement of the speaker, and how well they complement the event theme. Or the way your food is served, the dining environment and ambience. These tiny details that are only tiny separately, create the biggest impact and elevate your event from a common thing to the most extraordinary thing. Do you agree?

Prior to launching Saint + Social, I spent 6 years in a relationship-centric career. Yet, amidst the flurry of coffee meetings, business card exchanges, and elevator pitches, I realized I was meeting countless faces but rarely building real connections. This prompted a deeper reflection: What if our professional interactions were more than just surface-level exchanges? And voila, Saint + Social was born for those looking for a way to form substantive relationships and facilitate meaningful conversation around the dining table.#dinnerpartyplanner #chicagoevents #dinnerparty #eventdesign #entertainingideas #businessdevelopment #uniqueevents

A certain Ramon Montelongo, known far and wide as the rumored proprietor of the thriving mercado in Matamoros, has emerged from the shadows. And his establishment has a peculiar branding: "Buk-ii's". If you squint and tilt your head slightly, it just might remind you of the Texas convenience store behemoth Buc-ee’s. You know, the one with the restrooms cleaner than a surgeon's scalpel and freshly prepared food rivaling your grandma's Sunday roast.Excited as a kid with a new toy, Ramon hopped onto Facebook to spill the beans to his followers. Now, let me set the record straight, I'm a shameless Buc-ee's groupie.Whenever foreigners (aka all y'all not from Texas) visit me in Austin, I gleefully drag them not to the Alamo, but the magnificent behemoth of convenience, the largest Buc-ee's in Texas, found lurking near New Braunfels.Buc-ee's response, however, was a buzzkill. In the words of their general counsel Jeff Nadalo: "The Buc-ee’s brand represents clean restrooms, freshly prepared food, and great service. Buc-ee’s has invested heavily in innovation across the company to create and maintain these award-winning guest experiences. Accordingly, Buc-ee’s will not stand as an idle spectator while others use without permission the intellectual property that Buc-ee’s has cultivated for decades."Apologies Buc-ee's, but that sounds like Zero-Sum Thinking, your gain is my loss, and vice versa. Consider the charming town of Northfield, Minnesota. When a big bad chain store came knocking on their door, threatening their beloved local shops, they didn't start a town-wide tantrum. No, they turned the zero-sum scenario on its head and crafted a win-win situation. Their local shops are now thriving, the chain store is churning out profits, and their community bond is tighter than my jeans after Thanksgiving dinner. It seems the most fatal flaw we often commit is sacrificing relationships at the altar of #competition. But the clever folks at Northfield? They chose unity, which I hear is quite fashionable these days.Need a refresher on banishing Zero-Sum Thinking?🔄 Shift your #mindset: It's 'we', not 'me vs. you'.🔗 Build relationships: #Collaboration not competition is key to #sucesss.🌞 Embrace #abundance: See opportunities, not limitations.Do you agree or not? What can Buc-ee's learn from Northfield's strategy? What would you do?
