That you have to leave everything behind from one day to the next? And flee headlong with your family, your neighbors or sometimes all alone to a destination that is still unknown?💔 Never before have so many people fled war, conflict and oppression. By participating in the Night of the Refugee, you commit yourself to them: you draw attention to their stories in a positive way and have your kilometers sponsored. The more money you raise, the more emergency aid we can provide together!!💪🏼 During the 2023 edition with no fewer than 5,500 participants, more than 1.3 million euros was raised! A fantastic amount! This allowed the Refugee Foundation to give Sudanese refugees, among others, access to clean (drinking) water and sanitary facilities. They also provided emergency aid packages for people who had to flee the earthquake in Turkey and Syria and supported them with, among other things, nutrition in Ethiopia and Burkina Faso. Are you also participating this year? Register individually, with your family, friends, sports club, company or school.Click on 'I'm participating' so that we can explain to you how you can participate!15-06-2024 and 1 moreYoung peopleChallenge(small) groups
UtrechtGrief Support CoordinatorHumanitasSupport for Mourning is a project that offers people who are struggling with the loss of a loved one comfort and recognition. As a coordinator you fulfill a meaningful role within the project.Support for Mourning is a project of Humanitas Utrecht that offers support to people who have lost a loved one. After the death of a loved one, your life changes and the feeling of loss will be constantly present. In this situation it can be nice to talk to someone outside your own circle about how you feel and what you are experiencing during the grieving process. In this project, volunteers are linked to someone who can use support during the grieving. The volunteer provides support by being there for the participant, offering a listening ear and helping to find ways that best help the participant deal with the loss. They meet every week or every other week for about a year and a half (but it can also be much less long). Together they can determine how often and for how long they see each other.Activities of the coordinator- As a coordinator, you conduct introductory meetings with participants who register.- You connect volunteers to participants and are the first point of contact for them.- As a coordinator, you also guide a participant yourself.- You organize intervision and theme evenings for the volunteers.- You work together with other coordinators and meet each other in biweekly meetings.Who are you?- You are empathetic and motivated to work with mourners- Preferably you have experience with loss through death yourself.- You have good communication and organizational skills.- You can work well together and independently.- You are available for 8 to 10 hours a week for at least a year. What do we offer?- Challenging and meaningful work with a lot of responsibility.- Collaboration with enthusiastic volunteers and professionals from Humanitas.- Training, guidance and intervision. We believe diversity is important and would therefore like to invite everyone, regardless of background, to apply. You are very welcome!Regularly

UtrechtMentorship enriches your worldMentorschap Noordwest en MiddenImagine that due to illness or a disability you are not able to stand up for your own healthcare interests. And you don't have a family who can help you with this. Wouldn't you also be happy with a mentor? Someone who visits you regularly to get to know you well. Your wishes and opinions are well expressed. And helps you make decisions in care and well-being.Ilse certainly is. She is 58 years old and has an intellectual disability. She finds it difficult to make decisions about care and welfare for herself. That is why she is very happy with her mentor Renske. As a mentor, Renske is Ilse's legal representative and confidential adviser. She visits her regularly and then they go for a walk or play a game. She also helps her to make choices in care and well-being. For example about whether or not to vaccinate or operate. Renske also regularly consults with Ilse's care providers. She ensures that agreements made are fulfilled. For Ilse, mentorship means maintaining one's own direction. Renske finds the mentorship an enrichment of her life.Renske is one of the 370 voluntary mentors of the Northwest and Central Mentorship Foundation. Our Foundation offers mentorship to adults with an intellectual or psychiatric disability or dementia. Mentorship is a legal protective measure, which is instituted by the court. UtrechtExercise buddies wanted!BeweegmaatjesRESUMEWe are looking for volunteers who want to exercise or play sports for an hour a week together with vulnerable Utrecht residents, young or old.DETAILED DESCRIPTIONYou think it is very normal for you to participate in sports and exercise. You do it with pleasure and get satisfaction and energy in return. Unfortunately, this is not self-evident for a large number of fellow Utrecht residents. For example, due to a disability or psychological problems, which means that the threshold for doing something sporty is too high for them. Some people don't dare, don't know the way or are lonely. You can make a difference for these people by guiding them and leading them to appropriate exercise options.WHO ARE WE?Beweegmaatjes links local residents and/or volunteers to exercise together. Exercising together is fun, motivating and healthy. The Beweegmaatjes team is committed to making good matches and providing advice about sports and exercise in the neighborhood. Under the leadership of Vivian, the organization of Beweegmaatjes is largely possible through the efforts of students and volunteers.HOW DOES IT WORK?After registering, we will look for a suitable search buddy and match you. Together with your buddy, you make agreements about which sport you will do, when and how often. You decide how often you volunteer, this can be done with just an hour a week.WHAT DOES IT PROVIDE?You help others to (again) actively participate in daily life. How much that can mean to someone cannot really be expressed in words. So your help is priceless.ARE YOU INTERESTED?Register via the orange button below with I want to help on it, we will contact you and first have an introductory meeting! If you have any questions or would like more information, you can contact us by sending us a message or visit the Sportutrecht website --> in the area --> exercise buddies for our email address. For an extra impression, watch the explanation video of Beweegmaatjes on YouTube on the SportUtrecht channel with the title: Help a local resident get moving, register as an exercise buddy!Regularly
